Over the past three weeks, nearly 100 Vision Charter Academy (VCA) learners, across three campuses, have participated in Test Prep Winter Carnivals hosted by the VCA staff and Vanguard Parent Association. Through the course of the event, learners rotated stations sharpening skills for the upcoming CMAS, SAT and Dibels tests this spring. Stations varied from practical online test navigation tips, to keyboarding practice for third-ninth graders, while kindergarten through second grade played spelling games and worked on reading comprehension. High school learners were educated about VCA's ongoing SAT prep sessions and college readiness resources. It wasn't all seriousness -- a cake walk, face painting and photo booth rounded out the fun event. Overall, it was a success and the families who attended gained a lot of confidence in their ability to succeed in the coming months. Vision would like to thank all of the community businesses that donated prizes to the event: Bill Heddles Rec. Center, Moca Joe's, The Coffee Barn, Cedaredge Middle School climbing wall and Coal Train Coffee.
