The 2017 Visionary Summit will be held Friday through Sunday, Sept. 1-3, in Paonia. Sponsored by The Learning Council and Elsewhere Studios, the summit is a gathering of cultural creatives, activists, ruralists and dreamers. Throughout the event the Blue Sage Center for the Arts and Paradise Theatre will offer about 40 workshops, meditations, yoga sessions and shamanic-guided journeys, public art exhibits and live music.
More than 30 speakers, including Mari Luna, Maestro Juan Gabriel, Amy Williams, Wind Clearwater, Lucas Hoyt, Ed Eaton, Tanya Black, Robert Peace Wright and Jeremiah and Carly Sandridge will be featured. Music will be performed by Niceness, Plantrae, Michael Lightbringer, Sri Jis, Totem, and Zephyr.
All-events tickets are $60 in advance or $80 at the door, and available at the Cirque Cyclery and Backcountry Bistro, or online at Brown Paper Tickets. Two fatal accidents occurred in Delta County within a two-day span last week.
Casey Gillenwater, 25, of Delta was killed the afternoon of Wednesday, Sept. 13, in a single-vehicle rollover on Highway 133 outside of Hotchkiss.
