St. Joseph's Traditional Catholic Church in Olathe, located at 59350 Carnation Road east of Olathe, is small by any standard but never in its devotion and dedication. For more than 40 years, St. Joseph's has steadfastly and successfully maintained the teachings of the traditional Roman Catholic Church, as set down in the Council of Trent during the 1500s. Masses are offered every Sunday at 8 and 10:30 a.m. Confessions are heard a half hour before each Mass. Daily Masses are as scheduled.

Through numerous prayers, hard work, grants and matching grants, as well as fundraisers, countless and charitable in-kind hours and other gifts, the church has prospered and grown. It has been able to purchase 10 acres of land and build a new school with a playground and grass ball field. A high school was added two years ago. There is also a chapel, a convent for the nuns and a rectory for the resident priest. About one acre has been landscaped and devoted as a grotto to Mary along with beautiful outside meandering Stations of the Cross.

With thanksgiving for prayers answered, St. Joseph's is joyfully embarking on the next phase of its journey -- building a much-needed permanent church building on the land, with handicapped access, so the true Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church teachings will be passed on to future generations. The plans have been approved, the foundation has been dug and concrete poured, all of which has passed Montrose County inspection.

After much hard work, the church is reaching out to others in an appeal to help complete its journey. Any donations, no matter how small, will be appreciated and used only for the new church building. Please send your tax-deductible donation to St. Joseph's Traditional Catholic Church building fund, 59350 Carnation Rd., Olathe, CO 81425. You may also visit GoFundMe.com/zgf7h5nw to donate online.
