Fifteen years ago Ruth Phillips started the Senior Hikers group. Over the years the group has evolved and changed, and is still alive and well because many folks have joined and been active.

On Friday, Sept. 15, the group will hold a reunion. It will be a double celebration -- to share stories about having fun in the out-of-doors over the past 15 years, and to celebrate the life of one of the founding members, Mel Edmunds, who recently passed away Aug. 28. Whether you knew Mel or not, all who have hiked with the group are invited to join in the camaraderie.

The reunion will be at the Lion's Pavilion in the Cedaredge Town Park on Friday, Sept. 15, from 4-6 p.m. There will be a simple potluck meal, please bring something to share. Plates, utensils and drinks will be provided.

For more information call Jude Kieca at 856-7331.
