Award-winning documentary coming to Paonia

Longtime North Fork Valley resident Pete Kolbenschlag is hosting the Western Slope Premiere of the award-winning documentary film Waking the Sleeping Giant: The Making of a Political Revolution on July 24 in Paonia, Colo., as a fundraiser for the League of Oil and Gas Impacted Coloradans.

The film, which took "Best Feature Documentary" honors at its U.S. premiere at the Thin Line Fest in Denton, Texas, in April, will be shown at the Paradise Theatre at 7 p.m. Monday, July 24.

GMUG revision begins with open houses

The Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison (GMUG) National Forest will begin a series of public open houses in Delta on the Forest Plan revision.
