The number of real estate transactions in Delta County increased by 18 percent in the second quarter of 2015. According to a quarterly report from Heritage Title Company, second quarter sales totaled 263, compared to 223 a year ago. Year-to-date sales are 420, a 24 percent increase over the 338 for the first half of 2014.
In dollar volume, the first half of 2015 came in at 32 percent higher at $78 million, compared to $59 million for 2014.
The resale of foreclosed properties accounted for less than 10 percent of all sales to date -- much lower than the 64 (19 percent) of bank-owned sales that occurred in the first half of 2014.
On Tuesday, Sept. 11, the Delta County Board of Commissioners called a special meeting to consider the board's response to the Bureau of Land Management's preliminary Environmental Assessment (EA) concerning the lease parcels proposed for the December BLM sale.
