Four of the six seats on the Cedaredge Board of Trustees will be filled in the April election. The terms of Al Smith, Patti Michael and Ray Hanson are ending; the fourth is currently vacant.
Any U.S. citizen who is registered to vote, 18 years of age on or before the date of the election, and has lived in the Town of Cedaredge for at least 12 months prior to the date of the election is qualified to run for office. If you are interested in running for the office of town trustee you will need to pick up a nomination petition packet from the town clerk at 235 W. Main Street.
The deadline for circulating a petition for signatures is 4 p.m. Jan. 22. Included with the packet will be a general information sheet for candidates to review.
On Tuesday, Sept. 11, the Delta County Board of Commissioners called a special meeting to consider the board's response to the Bureau of Land Management's preliminary Environmental Assessment (EA) concerning the lease parcels proposed for the December BLM sale.
Several people from the North Fork were present to provide input.
