Paonia resident Perry Gale Harding died July 1, 2018, at his home. He was 95.
Graveside services were held July 7 at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Paonia.
Mr. Harding was born in Paonia Feb. 27, 1923, to James and Leone (Stevens) Harding. He was raised on the family ranch up Minnesota Creek.
On Sept. 17, 1948, he married Nellie Sill in Delta.
As a young man, Mr. Harding worked as a cowboy, at fruit packing sheds and at the area coal mines. A jack-of-all-trades, he worked for Western Colorado Power - Colorado Ute at the Oliver, Montrose and Ames plants until his retirement.
He is survived by his daughters, Kathy (Larry) Ungaro of Rangely and Debbie (Carl) Miller of Hotchkiss; seven grandchildren, Leanne (Brian) Tobiasson, Laurie Ungaro, April (Derrin) Noel, Lacey Miller, Chase (Alli) Miller, Cody (Melinda) Miller and Brandon (Quenya) Harding; 19 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Evelyn Williamson of Grass Valley, Calif., and Gwendolyn Condit of Eureka, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Nellie, on Sept. 6, 2015; his son, Milton Harding; and siblings, Carrol Harding, Charlotte Patton, Francis Core, Little Jim, Buford and Gordon.

On Tuesday, Sept. 11, the Delta County Board of Commissioners called a special meeting to consider the board's response to the Bureau of Land Management's preliminary Environmental Assessment (EA) concerning the lease parcels proposed for the December BLM sale.
Several people from the North Fork were present to provide input.
