The Delta County (Historical Society) Museum has created a new exhibit which highlights Delta High School, focusing on band and athletic recognition clothing from the past. Other DHS-related items are included in the exhibit, including photos and miscellaneous items from the past.
The Delta museum is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission for high school students is always free. The museum archive contains books, documents and photos detailing Delta County history back to 1883, as well as microfilm of all county newspapers. The archive specializes in family history research. Direct questions to 874-8721.
Thanks to the efforts of state Rep. Millie Hamner, House District 61, Colorado State University plans to re-open the Rogers Mesa research site.
The facility was taken out of operation in 2011, due to budget cuts throughout the CSU system.
