This began Mrs. Woodruff's 24-year career as a home economics teacher. In 1969 she brought back the Future Homemakers Organization to the school. In 1976 she started a boys' home economic class. She earned a master of arts degree from Western State College in 1970. Before she retired in 1991, she had the opportunity to teach four years of fourth grade.

After her retirement, she and her husband traveled all over the world. They often visited their son, who lived and worked in Italy, as well as Austria, France, Greece, Turkey, Ireland and South America.

Mrs. Woodruff enjoyed crossing paths with her former students. A reception honoring Mrs. Woodruff was hosted last summer by her friends and students.

She is survived by her daughter, Grace Whitmer; son-in-law, Lyle Giegling; son, Henry Woodruff (Amy Thomas); twin brothers, Dorsey and Joe Reirdon; sister, Ella Brown; and granddaughter, Emily Whitmer.
