At their March 5 meeting Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes made two appointments to the county planning commission. Steve Shea was reappointed for a three-year term.
Larry Jakubiak reported during the Aug. 17 Hotchkiss Town Council meeting that this year's Farm to Fiddle event, held on Aug. 11-12, was a success. There were good crowds for both days, and the music was a big draw.

After rising to fame on the American Idol television show, Crawford's Jeneve Rose Mitchell will be performing at Hotchkiss's first annual Farm to Fiddle Festival on Saturday, Aug. 13, from 3 to 6 p.m. The performance will be free to the public. Her appearance is sponsored by Adam Camacho, AXA Advisors in Hotchkiss and Grand Junction.

Hotchkiss will host the first ever Farm to Fiddle Festival Aug. 12-13 and organizers are putting the finishing touches on the gala community event.
Co-directors Lynda Cannon and Marcy Moore, fellow graduates of Hotchkiss High School, came up with the idea of the festival to help promote the town.
In conjunction with the Farm to Fiddle Festival in Hotchkiss on Aug. 12-13, the North Fork Valley Creative Coalition is orchestrating a Fine Arts Show, with cash prizes, from Aug. 5-26 at the Creamery Arts Center. All media will be accepted in three categories, Professional, Advanced and Amateur.
