Dorothy (Warner) Hill died Dec. 29, 2017, at her daughter's home in New Mexico. She was 95.
She was born to Ted and Mae Warner in Olathe in 1922. She graduated from Olathe High School and worked as an assistant to Dr. Robert Rigg in Montrose and Olathe. She married Robert "Bob" Hill in 1943.
Mrs. Hill was involved in many of her family's activities in church and school. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, nature, the ocean, Grand Mesa, working in her yard and garden, and traveling. In retirement, she and her husband spent a decade traveling in the U.S. and Mexico in their RV.
After her husband's death, Mrs. Hill moved to Delta. She was active in the Senior Center and volunteered for the Willow Tree Care Center. In 2007 she moved to the Atrium (Solstice) in Grand Junction, where she enjoyed volunteering and helping out with activities.
She is survived by her children, Judy Comstock, Jerry (Dora) Hill, Ted (Cindy) Hill and Lynn (Santiago) Hill Plata; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; three brothers; and a sister.
A memorial service will be held at the Atrium (Solstice) in Grand Junction Saturday, April 14, at 2 p.m.
Delta Volunteer Fire Department (DVFD) will be holding its annual fireworks show at Confluence Park on Wednesday, July 4, having received approval from Delta City Council at the council's June 5 meeting.
The DVFD has 28 volunteers and expects to have eight to 10 firefighters from Cedaredge join them this year.
