On Saturday evening Aug. 13, the Cedar Mesa Community Club held its first ever salad supper as a fundraiser for its much-needed, upcoming building renovations.

The diners were very generous with their donations, which included a $1,000 check from a couple who are longtime supporters of the club's events. Club members are hoping that this generosity will be motivation for other supporters to contribute to their building fund. To help the fundraising along, another longtime friend of the club has now issued a challenge to other friends of the club to match her $100 donation.

The club has also signed onto Schwan's Cares as part of its fundraising efforts. This is a program that is available to anyone who orders from Schwan's.

By just entering the club's campaign ID #33875 anytime an order is placed online, a portion of that sale will be credited to the Cedar Mesa Club. This is a simple way to help, with no cost to the Schwan's customer. The prices, food, and delivery service remain the same. For more information see your local Schwan's delivery driver, or check out Schwan's online.

The Cedar Mesa Community Club is a small 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that has been a very involved member of the Cedaredge, and Western Slope, community for 109 years. The clubhouse on Peach Road on Cedar Mesa was built in 1949, and is now sorely in need of some renovations to make the facility more functional in the 21st century. Members are searching out grants and benefactors, but in most cases will need "matching funds" to qualify.

The Cedar Mesa Community Club thanks all of its supporters, and looks forward to a renovated clubhouse in the hopefully-near future that will better serve its members and the community at-large. Mail any donations to the Cedar Mesa Community Club, PO Box 433, Cedaredge, CO 81413. All donations will be gratefully accepted and receipted.

If you have questions about the club, or its fundraising efforts, please call club president Susan Seastone at 970-835-4844.
