Five recruiting firms responded to a request for proposals from the City of Delta, which is renewing its search for a new city manager. Bids ranged from $9,500 to $25,000, interim city manager Glen Black said at a work session last week.
He said it's difficult to compare "apples to apples" without in-depth analysis and some follow-up. Although councilmembers are anxious to get the process started, they agreed to wait for more information. A special meeting was set for 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, to enable the search to move forward as quickly as possible.
Brian Aucutt, 58, a homeless Delta man, was seriously burned while attempting to ignite a kerosene heater late Friday afternoon.
Aucutt was occupying the crawlspace in a vacant home at 210 Main Street, just north of Hoolie's.
