We are Boy Scouts and we would like to inform you about Boy Scouts in Delta. You might know about us already which is what we hope. We are part of Troop 485 chartered by St. Michael's Catholic Church. We would like to explain to you what we do for the Delta community.
We put out flags on Main Street for holidays, we help clean up the community by picking up trash and practicing Leave No Trace, which means that whenever you do some sort of recreational activity you pick up your trash and anybody else's to leave it better than you found it.
Most holidays you probably have seen flags on Main Street. We love putting them up for you and we always will. It's one of the things we do to make people happy, and to make them proud of our community and our country. Plus, it gets us good exercise and we enjoy doing it. Our troop has also gone up to Garnet Mesa Elementary and we have taught the kids there about the flag and how to treat it.
Many of us are working toward the rank of Eagle, and once we get there, we must do a project for the community to complete it. Whether it's rebuilding a picnic shelter at Confluence, or making a small playground for little kids, it needs to benefit the community in some way.
We and the other troop in our area do lots of things for Delta. These and other things are what we do for our community. Thank you for reading this, we really appreciate it. Also, thanks for giving us the opportunity to talk with you, because you just helped us earn our Communications Merit Badge. We hope you have a very great day.
