Bulldogs edge Bruins on Guereque fly-out

In a close game that went into an extra inning, the Hotchkiss Bulldogs defeated the visiting Cedaredge Bruins last Wednesday, 5-4.

Hotchkiss scored three runs on two hits in the opening inning.

Delta's big seventh results in 15-5 win

Delta and Aspen are tied, 3-0, at the top of 3A WSL standings as of last week's play. Aspen is listed first by virtue of its 6-1 overall record with the Panthers owning a 5-5 mark.

Last week's action, for Delta, was taking on the visiting Gunnison Cowboys on April 3.

Four 50J seniors named Daniels Fund Scholars

Four Delta County high school seniors who have demonstrated exceptional character, leadership, and commitment to the community have earned a place in the Daniels Scholarship Program.

Among the 238 students selected as 2018 Daniels Scholars are Kayla Kensler, Cedaredge High School; Thomas Neil, Delta High School; and Slater Podgorny and Anders Schopp, Paonia High School.
