Forum spotlights three Delta candidates

A candidate forum held March 1 provided an opportunity for voters to learn more about Delta City Council candidates Nathan Clay, Kevin Carlson and Jay Stooksberry.

The forum was hosted by the Delta Area Chamber of Commerce and moderated by Darnell Place-Wise, the chamber's executive director, and Pat Sunderland of the DCI.

Bruin girls hoop team 21-4

The 2017-18 girls basketball season was a successful one for Cedaredge High School.

The Bruins led the 3A WSL for most of the season before being overhauled late in the season and finishing in a four-way tie at the top of league standings with a 7-2 record.

Panthers' diamond crew blanks RF Rams

The 2018 baseball season began as it did a year ago with a win over Roaring Fork's Rams. Delta defeated the Rams 8-1 in its season opener last year and dealt a 10-0 loss to them to begin the 2018 season on March 9.

As a kid David Vallem didn't have people in his life who did extreme sports. While he knew that extreme sports existed he had no way of gaining access to the equipment he would need; however, he said that this did not stop him from climbing mountains, even the ones that he should have probably been wearing pall protection on.

Two candidates step up to provide leadership in Hotchkiss

Thomas Wills and Larry Wilkening are running for mayor of Hotchkiss, seeking to fill the seat that's being vacated by Wendell Koontz, who is term limited.

Since moving to Hotchkiss in 1990, Wills has been an active member of the community.
