For Rob Ames, the start to the 2017-18 basketball season may seem a bit strange. Ames, the freshman boys basketball coach for 24 years at Delta High School, finds himself with more leisure time in the mornings than he's used to. His 5:45 practice time each morning for 24 years became just another routine for him over the years.
An amazing variety of handcrafted articles are featured in the Holiday Craft Fair held annually at Bill Heddles Recreation Center. Holiday shoppers delight in Christmas decor, handbags, crocheted dishcloths, knitted socks and quilted items. The craft fair draws over 75 vendors, but amazingly you can find all those items, and more, at just one booth -- the one featuring the handicrafts of Paula Mathews.

"Sew In Love Ministries," a group based at True Life Church in Cedaredge, has made enormous impacts in the community and abroad despite the program being less than six months old.
Judean Carter brought the organization to Cedaredge when she moved from Las Vegas in July 2017.
On Nov. 17 and 18, the Cedaredge High School Theatre Department performed its fall production of "The Love of Three Oranges," a modern adaptation of an Italian fairytale originating in 1761. The comedy incorporated elements new to the CHS Theatre Department, including more sound effects, pyrotechnics, and blocking that moved actors to all corners of the auditorium.
